Mcpeak Named WAC Women’s Indoor Track & Field Freshman of the Year

ARLINGTON, TEXAS –Western Athletic Conference officials announced the 2026 Women's Indoor Track & Field postseason awards, and UT Arlington's Arieanna Mcpeak has been named the WAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Freshman of the Year following an amazing debut season.

Mcpeak quickly established herself as one of the conference's top newcomers, excelling in both long jump and triple jump throughout the indoor campaign.

Mcpeak opened her collegiate career with a strong showing at the Robert Platt Invitational, placing third in the triple jump with a mark of 12.05 meters. She followed that performance with a second-place finish in long jump at the Jarvis Scott Invitational, recording a 6.06-meter leap that now ranks fourth all-time in UTA program history.

The freshman standout continued to elevate her performances at the WAC Indoor Championships in Spokane, Wash., earning runner-up finishes in both the long jump (5.83m) and triple jump (12.49m). Her triple jump mark at the conference meet now ranks fifth all-time in program history.

The Ferris, Texas native also claimed Co-Field Performer Honors on the women's side at WAC Indoor Championships.
