ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington track & field team is set to begin the outdoor season, hosting the UT Arlington Invitational on Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14 at Maverick Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Competition will begin Friday morning at 11 a.m. CT with women's and men's hammer finals, followed by the women's and men's javelin at 3 p.m.
Saturday's action will start with field events at 10 a.m., beginning with the women's long jump and women's discus finals, followed by the men's discus. Additional field finals throughout the day include men's and women's long jump, pole vault, high jump, triple jump and shot put.
Running events start at 11:25 a.m. with the national anthem, followed by the women's and men's 4x100-meter relays. The track schedule continues with finals in the 1,500 meters, 100 and 110-meter hurdles, 100 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, 400-meter hurdles and 200 meters. The meet will conclude with the women's and men's 3000m steeplechase and the 4x400-meter relays.
Along with UT Arlington, teams scheduled to compete include Cameron, Dallas Baptist, Hill College, Jacksonville College, Paul Quinn, Southeastern Oklahoma, Southwestern (Tex.), St. Edward's, Texas Wesleyan and UNT-Dallas.
