ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington baseball and first year Head Coach
Clay Van Hook have announced the 2023 recruiting class, consisting of five student-athletes who have signed their National Letters of Intent.
Matt Hudspeth | RHP | 6-3 | Martin High School | Arlington, Texas
Appeared in 8 games for the Warriors his junior season, compiling a 5-1 record with a 2.92 ERA. In 38.1 innings pitched, struck out 46 batters while only walking 21. Great command of his fastball, which has topped out at 87 MPH.
Kyzer Harrington | INF | 6-0 | Midlothian High School | Midlothian, Texas
A middle infielder who is a vacuum on the field with a strong arm to make throws across the diamond from deep in the hole. At the plate, uses the whole field with some pop in his bat. Gets in done in the classroom as well, is in the top 10-percentile academically in his graduating class.
Jackson Hill | OF | 6-2 | Keller High School | Keller, Texas
A speedy centerfielder who takes control while in the field, with a strong arm to compliment his speed. Bats from the left side of the plate and uses the whole field to his advantage. Was named a Deca state qualifier.
Logan Myers | OF | 6-2 | Martin High School | Arlington, Texas
An outfielder who can play shortstop and third base with a strong arm. Has a sound approach at the plate and displays good power from the right side. Named the District 8-6A Offensive Player of the Year and a First Team Outfielder, as well as an Academic All-District Team honor. His junior year he set the single season record for most BBCOR homeruns at Martin High.
William Johnson | INF | 6-1 | Prestonwood Christian Academy| Plano, Texas
A middle infielder who can play the hot corner with a quick reaction time. A disciplined hitter who can spray the ball to all parts of the field. Was named the Defensive Player of the Year in TAPPS Division 1 – District 2 as well as First Team All-District Honors and Honorable Mention All-State.
