ARLINGTON - The UT Arlington baseball team (5-10) will look to turn things around as they host future WAC opponent Abilene Christian at Clay Gould Ballpark on Tuesday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. The Taco Tuesday game will feature $1 tacos for all fans from the Fuzzy's concession stand.

UTA NOTES
- UTA has lived off starting and ending strong so far this year. Between the first and ninth inning, the Mavericks have scored 23 out of their 66 runs this season. 12 of those runs have come in the 9th inning alone. UTA only scored 9 runs in the 9th inning for the entire 2021 season.
- Zach Henry has put together a string of 13 consecutive games reaching base - every game he has played this season. He has a hit in nine of those games.
- Freshman Zach Henry currently leads the Mavericks with a .333 batting average, but he has also been one of the hardest Mavericks to keep off the base. He has a .517 on-base percentage and is leading the Sun Belt Conference in walks per game (1.09) and total walks (12). His walks per game average is the 25th best in the NCAA.
- Maverick relievers have been dominate on the bump for the Mavericks so far this season. When leading after six innings, the bullpen has been able to put away the game for UTA as the Mavs are 3-0 with a lead after six innings.
- The UTA pitching staff hasn't given many free passes to opposing batters through 15 games. They are walking just 3.23 batters per nine innings - leading the conference and 38th best in the NCAA.
- Steven Saunders has made the most of his chances at the plate this season, hitting .348 on the year. He leads the Mavericks in total bases (17), doubles (2B), and home runs (2).
- The beginning of the game has been a determining factor for the Mavericks. When leading after three innings, UTA is 3-0 on the season. On the flip side, the Mavericks are 0-8 when trailing after the third inning.

- Abilene Christian enters this game with an 8-7 record and are coming off a series loss to UTRGV in Edinburg, losing two of the three games.
- The Wildcats made some noise earlier this year when they hit 11 home runs in the blowout win over Marist 23-1. ACU is currently 26th in the nation with 22 home runs on the year.
- Four Wildcats are hitting over .300 on the season - Grayson Tatrow (.305), Bash Randle (.314), Colton Eager (.345) and Tommy Cruz (.361)
- Carter Sells has been impressive out of the bullpen early this season, boasting a 0.96 ERA in four appearances and 9.1 innings pitched.
SERIES HISTORY
Since ACU joined Division I in 2012, the Mavericks and Wildcats have met 10 times prior to tonight with UTA leading 7-4 in the modern era. UTA is 3-3 in Arlington against their future WAC opponent and 4-1 in Abilene.
