UTA NOTES
- This will be the fourth game the Mavericks have played at Globe Life Field (opened March 2020) in the past two seasons. UTA opened their season a year ago with a 14-1 win over Tarleton State before taking on Oklahoma (L, 7-1) the next day and Texas A&M (L, 4-8) later in the season.
- Freshman infielder Tanner Rice had a strong week at the plate last week as he slashed .444/.615/.444 across three games. He led the team in runs scored (5) and walks (4), while second on the team in RBI (3) and hits (4).
- Redshirt freshman Zach Henry has been impressive at the plate this season, leading the Mavericks in batting average (.333) and on-base percentage (.515), while ranking second on the team in slugging percentage (.500). - Junior Steven Saunders has made an impact when at the plate. He owns the highest slugging percentage on the team (.639), leading the team with seven extra-base hits (5 doubles, 2 home runs). He is also third on the team with 10 RBI.
- Transfer Wilson Galvan connected on a solo home run at South Alabama on Sunday - his first career home run. Galvan is second on the team in RBI (11) and is tied for the team lead with 16 hits, along with Zach Henry.
