ARLINGTON - The UT Arlington women's tennis team picked up their 11th win of the season on Sunday afternoon, sweeping Wichita State 4-0 at the UTA Tennis Center.
The Mavericks started hot with
Momoka Horiguchi and
Tara Gorinsek taking line one in doubles 6-3. The Shockers shot back with a win of their own, taking court three over
Carla Pons and
Nika Novikova. With the doubles point coming down to court two,
Liz Chileno and
Ana Paula Jimenez buckled down with all eyes on them, taking down the Shockers 7-5 to put UTA up 1-0.
The momentum carried over into singles competition as
Sarina Reinertsen kept her undefeated season alive with a 6-1, 6-2 win on court six.Â
Ana Paula Jimenez put the Mavs within one point of victory with a 6-2, 6-3 on court five.
Liz Chileno clinched the match for the Mavericks, winning at line two 6-3, 6-2 to complete the sweep for UTA.

UTA begins conference play on Wednesday, March 9 when they travel to San Marcos to take on Texas State. The Mavericks are looking to defend their 2021 SBC regular season championship when they went 8-0 against Sun Belt competition.Â
