ARLINGTON – After five seasons as the UT Arlington softball head coach, Peejay Brun announced her resignation on Wednesday, June 1.
Â
"We thank Peejay for her time leading our program and helping shape the successes of our softball student-athletes on the field, in the classroom and throughout the community," said UTA Director of Athletics
Jim Baker. "Change is never easy, but we will work closely with our student-athletes to ensure that the transition process to a new head coach is successful."
Â
Brun was 117-129 (.475) in five seasons as the Mavericks head coach, including back-to-back 30+ win campaigns in her first two years in 2018 and 2019. That 2019 season featured UTA capturing the program's first postseason title by virtue of winning the National Invitational Softball Championship (NISC).
Â
UTA will conduct a national search for her replacement.
