Women's Cross Country Remains Ranked While Men Re-Enter Regional Rankings

ARLINGTON, Texas – The newest edition of the NCAA D1 Men's and Women's Cross Country Regional Rankings presented by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for Week 4 were released on Monday, October 16, afternoon, with the women remaining ranked while the men re-entered the rankings.

The women dropped one spot from No. 7 to No. 8 in the South Central Region with the men coming in at No. 13 after dropping out of the Week 3 rankings.

The Mavericks concluded their regular season schedule this past Friday, October 13, at the Arturo Barrios Invitational hosted by Texas A&M and are now preparing for the WAC Cross Country Championships.

Both the men and women's teams are the only WAC teams ranked in the South Central Region.

On the women's side, Matro Jepkemboi has continued to impress in her freshman campaign. In the four races she has competed in, she has finished in the top 10 all four times.

On the men's side, Patrick Estes has led the way for the Mavs in the previous two races, posting two top 100 finishes in two massive races with over 300 runners.

The Mavs are preparing for the upcoming WAC Cross Country Championships that will take place next Friday, October 27, in Abilene, Texas.
