Lady Mavs Fall On The Road To No. 11 Texas Longhorns

AUSTIN, Texas – The UT Arlington women's basketball team (0-3) fell on the road to the 11th ranked Texas Longhorns (3-0) by a final score of 110-64.
 
Gia Adams had her best game in a UTA uniform, leading the Lady Mavs with 20 points on 9-of-18 shooting while grabbing four rebounds, dishing out an assist and coming up with two steals. Avery Brittingham finished with 12 points, her third game in a row in double digit scoring, and also pulled down five rebounds while having five assists and two steals.
 
Keiori Lee pulled down four rebounds and had nine points off the bench, her best outing in a Lady Mavs uniform. Adela Valkova finished with eight points in 30 minutes.
 
Texas had five players reach double-digit scoring, led by 21 from Taylor Jones. The host Longhorns made 50 of their 90 shots and outrebounded the Lady Mavs, 57 to 27.
 
The Lady Mavs had their best scoring run in the second quarter, when the scored seven unanswered points to cut the Longhorn lead down to nine with 8:52 left in the quarter before Texas went on their own 7-0 run to put the Longhorns up double digits, where they would remain for the rest of the game.

UTA will be back in action this upcoming Saturday, November 18, as they welcome the Roadrunners of UTSA to the College Park Center. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m.
