Clay Van Hook has announced the 2024 schedule, with a slate of 24 home games, 31 road games and a neutral game at Globe Life Field.
Save the date for UTA Baseball's First Pitch Banquet will be held on Sunday, February 4th, at the Lexus Club at Globe Life Field. More information regarding the banquet and season tickets release date will be available in the coming weeks.
"We are excited to announce our upcoming 2024 schedule. Our goal is to play against the top competition to maximize our opportunity for growth as well as have a top RPI," said Van Hook. "To match that with an extremely challenging WAC slate, we feel confident that our guys will be battle tested and prepared for another exciting year. UTA, the city of Arlington, and the greater Metroplex will have fun watching this team grow as we compete against some of the top teams in the country."
The non-conference schedule for the Mavericks includes seven teams who qualified for the 2023 College World Series Regionals.
UTA will start the season in San Antonio with a four-game series against UTSA (Feb. 16-18) before returning to Arlington to face Texas Tech at Globe Life Field (Feb. 20) in the College Baseball Series.
The Mavericks will host Boston College in their home-opening series at Clay Gould Ball Park (Feb. 23-25). The Mavs will then head to Huntsville to square off with Sam Houston State for a single game (Feb. 28). Following leap day, the Mavs will travel to Beaumont to face Lamar (Mar. 1-3).
UTA will then begin a 5-game home stretch, the longest of the season, starting with Arizona State (Mar. 5) followed by the first conference opponent of the year in Utah Tech (Mar. 8-10). Then the Mavericks will conclude the stretch by hosting OU (Mar. 13).
Following the home stretch, the Mavericks will travel for their first road conference appearance against ACU (Mar. 15-17) before rounding out at TCU (Mar. 19).
The Mavericks will then return home for a three-game series against SFA (Mar. 22-24) followed by the Mavericks hosting DBU (Mar. 26).
UTA will then head out to sunny California to take on conference foes CBU (Mar. 28-30). The Mavericks will then return home for a lone game against TCU (Apr. 2). Followed by a road trip down by the border to take on UTRGV (Apr. 5-7).
The Mavericks will then travel to Norman, Oklahoma to face OU (Apr. 9) before returning home to face GCU in a three-game series (Apr. 12-14). Followed by the Mavericks hosting Baylor at home (Apr. 16).
The Mavericks will then hit the road for 8 straight road games, starting with a trip to Orem, Utah for a showdown against Utah Valley (Apr. 19-21), followed with a trip down I-35 to face UT (Apr. 23). The Mavs then head west to Houston to play the University of Houston (Apr. 26-28), concluding with a stop in Waco to face Baylor (Apr. 30).
UTA will return to Clay Gould Ballpark for a three-game series against Sacramento State (May 3-5) followed by a road trip to Dallas to face DBU (May 7).
The Mavericks will conclude their final two series with a trip to Washington to face Seattle U (May 10-12) followed by a regular season finish at Clay Gould Ballpark when the Mavericks host Tarleton (May 16-18).
The WAC Tournament will be held in Mesa, Arizona at the Hohokam Stadium May 21-25.
