ARLINGTON– UT Arlington head coach
Diego Benitez announced the spring 2024 men's tennis schedule on Thursday.
Benitez returns for his 19th season as head coach after leading the men's team to Western Athletic Conference (WAC) regular season and tournament titles, as well as an NCAA Tournament appearance last season.
The men's team will start the spring season on the road in Norman, Okla., to face the Sooners on Jan. 21 at noon. Their first of nine home matches is set for Jan. 28 against Prairie View A&M at 10 a.m.
The Mavericks will compete in two spring tournaments. The Cajun Tennis Classic is set for Feb. 2-3 at the Cajun Courts in Lafayette, La. They will also play the H-E-B Tournament of Champions at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center in Corpus Christi Feb. 16-18. Opponents for those events will be announced at a later date.
UTA's first WAC matchup is scheduled for March 31 at the UTA Tennis Center against Grand Canyon at 11 a.m. The Mavs will also host UTRGV on April 12 at 2 p.m. The two conference road matchups include Abilene Christian on April 5 and Seattle U on April 14.
The WAC Tournament is scheduled to begin April 18 at the HEB Tennis Center at Pendleton Park in Harlingen, Texas.
