ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington baseball team take on Dallas Baptist at Globe Life Field on Tuesday night before traveling to Fort Worth to take on the 8th ranked TCU Horned Frogs.
 
UTA NOTES

• First year head coach Clay Van Hook picked up his first career victory as the skipper of the Mavericks this previous Sunday.
• The Mavs already have half of their total wins on the road from the previous year.
• As a team, the Mavs have hit 9 doubles on the year so far, which has them ranked 23rd nationally & 2nd in the WAC. Averaging 3 double per game has the Mavs ranked 17th nationally while leading the WAC.
• Steven Saunders has started off the season hot, leading the Mavs offensively with 5 hits in 11 at-bats for a .455 batting average, a team high .636 slugging percentage & an even .500 on-base percentage.
• Freshman Ben Lumsden hit the 1st homerun of the year for the Mavs, as well as his career, & has driven in 3 runs which leads UTA.
• Matt Cavanagh & Tyson Pointer each have 5 hits in 12 at-bats for a .417 batting average & .583 slugging percentage. 
• Sam Crowell has 3 hits in 10 at-bats with 2 doubles, 2 walks and has been hit by 1 pitch for an even .300 batting average & .500 slugging percentage to go along with a .462 on-base percentage.
• Zach Henry leads the Mavs in drawing 5 walks on the season, which has him ranked 33rd nationally, as well as averaging 1.67 walks per game which ranks him 26th nationally. Also has a team high .533 on-base percentage.
• Caden Noah picked up the 1st victory on the mound for the Mavericks while Connery Peters picked up the 1st save of the year for UTA.

 
KNOW YOUR OPPONENT | DBU

• Started off the season 3-0, with a sweep over Fordham.
• Averaging 13 runs scored per game.
• Miguel Santos in 3 games is hitting .385 with 5 hits, 2 of them via homeruns, & driving in 9 runs.
• As a team, hitting .354 with 35 hits, 10 of them being doubles while 6 are homeruns. Also driven in 33 runs & walked 26 times compared to 16 strikeouts.
• Has a 2.16 earned run average as a team, giving up 15 hits & 6 runs to go along with 37 strikeouts.

 
KNOW YOUR OPPONENT | #8 TCU

• Is 2-1 on the season, coming off a loss to Missouri this past Sunday by a final score of 8-9 in 10 innings. Defeated previously ranked #8 Arkansas by a final score of 18-6 & #10 Vanderbilt by a final score of 11-4.
• Brayden Taylor & Austin Davis both have a batting average over .500 as well as a slugging percentage over .900 as they both have 7 hits apiece.
• Averaging 12 runs scored per game.
• Hitting .360 as a team, scoring 37 runs on 40 hits.
• The pitching staff has a 5.46 earned run average, striking out 29 & walking 11.
