ARLINGTON, Texas – Joel Bengtsson has been named the Western Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for the competition week ending on Sunday, March 26.
 
Bengtsson, a senior, claimed victory in the men's 110-meter hurdles during the Clyde Hart Classic on March 24-25. Bengtsson crossed the line in 13.79 in section three to post the second-fastest time of the season in the WAC and the number 13 time in NCAA Division I as of March 29.
 
This is Bengtsson's first weekly honor for the outdoor season and third overall during 2023, being named the Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week twice during the indoor season.
 
Bengtsson and the Mavs will be back in action starting this Thursday as they travel to Austin to compete in the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
