ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington baseball team (14-16, 4-5 WAC) returns to WAC play this weekend as they welcome Utah Tech (8-20, 3-6 WAC) to Clay Gould Ballpark for a three-game series beginning Thursday, April 6 and concluding on Saturday, April 8.

UTA NOTES
- Hold a 4-5 record at Clay Gould Ballpark in 2023.
- Come into the game 113th in RPI, moving up 11 spots from 124th the previous ranking period. This is third best in the WAC, behind Abilene Christian (73) and Grand Canyon (90).
- The Mavericks are 12-1 when leading after 8 innings of play with Connery Peters being tied for ninth in the NCAA in saves with six and sits alone in second in the WAC. Zach Norris and Gray Bailey each have one save on the year, bringing the total number of saves to eight as a team.
- Gabriel Starks carries a team-best 2.52 earned run average, tops in the WAC and 61st best in the NCAA.
- As a team, the Mavericks are 17th in the NCAA and tops in the WAC in doubles with 67 on the year. Tyson Pointer leads the way with 12, which has him tied for 29th in the country and third in the conference. Berkley has 10 doubles on the season, tied for 83rd in the NCAA and sits in fourth in the WAC.
- Starks and Caden Noah have started seven games on the mound for the Mavs, which has them sitting atop the conference and tied for 22nd in the nation in games started.
- UTA is tied for 56th in the NCAA and third in the WAC in hits with 290. Garrison Berkley and Ryan Black lead the charge with 43 which has them tied for 55th in the nation and fifth in the WAC. Black leads the Mavs with a .374 batting average while Berkley boasts a .355 batting average.
- Tied for 50th in the NCAA and sit alone in first in the WAC in hit-by-pitch with 45. Wilson Galvan leads the way, being hit eight times for second in the conference.
- The Mavericks are ranked 96th in the country and third in the WAC in home runs with 33 on the season. Ben Lumsden is at the helm for UTA with 7 on the season, with Cade Sumbler coming in with six for the year.
- The Mavericks have yet to be shutout on the season.
- This upcoming weekend, the Mavericks have a chance to either match or surpass their win total from a season ago (15).
UTAH TECH NOTES
- Come into the game carrying an 8-20 overall record with a 3-6 WAC record. Hold a 1-8 record on the road with a 1-2 conference road record.
- The Trailblazers hold a 7.70 team earned run average. Carson Angeroth carries a 2.14 ERA in 21.0 innings pitched. Brett Porthan leads the team with 38.0 innings pitched on the year, holding a 6.63 ERA and a 3-3 record.
- Offensively, Utah Tech carries a .248 team batting average into the weekend, with two Trailblazers hitting over .300 on the season with Shane Taylor hitting .333 and Bryker Hurdsma coming in with a .323 batting average.
- The Trailblazers have hit 28 home runs on the season and slashed 42 doubles.
- Utah Tech posts a .951 fielding percentage for the season.

This will be the first ever meeting between the two programs, as Utah Tech is in their third year as a Division I program.
