ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington track and field teams return to action this Saturday, April 8, as they travel to Denton to compete in the North Texas Classic.
The event will be held at the Soccer and Track & Field Stadium and begins at 9 a.m. with the men's hammer throw in the field and the men's 5000-meters on the track. The meet concludes with the women's 4x400 meter relay at 5:05 p.m.

COMPETING TEAMS
Along with UTA and host North Texas, the following teams are scheduled to compete: Abilene Christian, Baylor, Cameron, Colombia, Concordia, Dallas, Dallas Christian, Drury, Fort Scott CC, Hill College, Jacksonville College, North Central Texas College, Pratt CC, Ranger, Sam Houston, SMU, Tarleton, Texas Wesleyan, Thunder Road, UNT-Dallas, US Paralympic Team and Washburn.
STORYLINES
- Joel Bengtsson in the men's 110-meter hurdles is currently the 17th fastest time in the NCAA and tops in the WAC with a time of 13.54.
- Madison Pippins holds the fastest time in the WAC and 52nd fastest time in the NCAA in the women's 100-meter dash with a time of 11.51.
- Simona Cabella leads the WAC in the women's pole vault with a mark of 3.85 meters.
- Jackson Cichon sits fifth in the WAC standings in the men's 800-meter run with a season's best time of 1:51.67.
- Freshmen Erlend Raa and Calen Jones in the men's high jump both have season best marks of 2.00 meters, tied for sixth best in the WAC.
- The women's 4x400 meter relay team have the third best time in the WAC and a top 100 time in the NCAA with a time of 3:44.70.
