HOUSTON, TEXAS --- The UT Arlington volleyball team (7-2) will travel down to Houston to take on Texas Southern University on Tuesday at 6 p.m. inside the H&PE Arena.

QUICK TURNAROUND
The Mavs, who recently returned from competing in the Tulsa Invitational, will return from Houston late Tuesday night before starting to prepare to host North Texas on Thursday in the UTA Invitational opener.
WELLS NAMED ALL-TOURNEY
Alli Wells was named to the Tulsa Invitational all-tournament team this past weekend. The graduate libero totaled 56 digs and 12 assists, which included a season-best 24 digs against Oral Roberts in a three-set win on Saturday. She was previously named to the Amy Svoboda Memorial Classic all-tournament team during the season's opening weekend.
WENGER APPROACHING 100 WINS
Head coach
J.T. Wenger is now just two wins shy of 100 in his career, which includes a 98-80 (.551) record over six-plus seasons. He is coming off his second-best season in Arlington and is looking to join Mary Ridgway (254, 1976-81), Diane Seymour (211, 2004-16), Lisa Love (199, 1982-88), Janine Smith (180, 180-137) and Jody Conradt (111, 1973-75) as one of six coaches in program history to reach the century mark.
MILESTONE WATCH
Brianna Ford moved into a tie for 23rd place on the program's career kills list with her performance this past weekend. The senior outside hitter currently has 927 over three-plus seasons, which is tied with Ashley Van Antwerp (927, 2002-05). Next up on the list is April Lee (946, 1990-93).
Alli Wells pushed her career dig total to 1,769 with her big weekend, which puts her firmly in fifth place all-time in program history. Next up is Caitlyn Cooney (1,820, 2012-15).
Mollie Blank pushed her career assist total to 1,571 this past weekend, which puts her in 11th place all-time just behind former Mav and current graduate assistant coach
Kylee Kapp, who had 1,654 from 2018-21.
SERIES HISTORY
The Mavs are 2-0 all-time against Texas Southern, which includes a four-set victory in the most recent matchup in the series on Sept. 12, 2014. The teams first met in 2009. This will be the first time they've met in Houston.
HOMECOMING
A pair of UT Arlington freshmen -
Evyn Snook and
Alexis Bull - will both be playing near family on Tuesday. Snook graduated from Magnolia West High School while Bull graduated from Magnolia High School and previously attended Oak Ridge.
DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS
With the team's win over Incarnate Word on Sept. 1, UTA improved its all-time record against teams from the state of Texas to 534-294-6. The Mavs have played 42 different schools from Texas with the most matchups coming against Texas State (87), Lamar (82), Sam Houston (74), North Texas (65) and Stephen F. Austin (61).
50 SEASONS OF UTA VOLLEYBALL
This year marks the 51st season of UT Arlington volleyball dating back to the program's inception in 1973. Over those 50+ seasons, the Mavs have built one of the richest volleyball traditions in NCAA Division I history with a 1,146-684-8 (.626) all-time record, which puts them 16th nationally in all-time wins. Meanwhile, UTA has compiled 16 national tournament appearances in either the NCAA or AIAW, including a Final Four appearance in 1989, and captured 22 combined regular season and tournament conference championships.
