Mavs open fall campaign at North Texas this weekend

DENTON, Texas – The UT Arlington women's tennis team will open its fall season at the Diving Eagle Invite hosted by the University of North Texas at the Waranch Tennis Complex over the next three days.

The Mavs will compete against a combination of North Texas, Louisiana Tech, Stephen F. Austin, McNeese, Louisiana and Tarleton in an individual tournament.

Led by head coach Diego Benitez, who is entering his 18th season, the Mavs will open up the season with a veteran team that features seven returners. Last year's lone senior, Liz Chileno, will slide into a graduate assistant coaching role.

The tournament will consist of four singles flights and two doubles flights, starting at 8:30 a.m. each day.

Friday's action will start with both doubles flights as well as one singles flight. Saturday will be the inverse with one doubles flight and a pair of singles while Sunday will feature the finales for one singles and doubles flights.

Live streaming for the entire tournament will be available via TrackTennis here. Fans will be able to watch action on the six main courts at Waranch throughout all three days of the tournament.

The stream will only be on the main six courts and will be continuous throughout the day. No names or scores will be listed. Also, the courts will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so it will be difficult to determine which players will be playing on which courts throughout the weekend until the time of the match.
