BEAUMONT, Texas – Day two of the Ron Wesbrooks Invitational ended with your UT Arlington men's tennis team picking up 10 victories, including seven on the singles courts.
Daniel Pérez-Caraballo bounced back today, picking up wins in both his singles matches today. He defeated ACU's Alejandro Verdasco by a final score of 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) and Lamar's Lukas Hamacher 6-2, 6-3.
Pedro Sasso continued his fantastic weekend, picking up two victories in singles play. Sasso defeated Abilene Christian's Matheus Lima by a final score of 6-4, 6-4 and Lamar's H. Omori-Cowie by a final score of 6-3, 6-1. Sasso and
Yazid Lahjomri picked up a victory in doubles action, defeating Rice's tandem of Mandelbaum and Sarouk by a final score of 6-0.
Lahjomri went 1-1 on the day in singles play, defeating Lamar's Fabian Anthin by a final score of 7-6 (7-4), 6-3.
Meethre Barot picked up a victory in singles action, going 1-1 for the day. Barot defeated ACU's Merse Deli by a score of 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 12-10. Barot and
Andres Medus defeated ACU's Lima and Verdasco in doubles action by a final score of 6-4.
Medus dropped both of his singles matches in highly contested action.
Ian Uraga went 1-1 in singles action, picking up a win over ACU's Ford Elizondo by a final score of 6-3, 6-1. With teammate Pérez-Caraballo, produced a 7-5 victory over ACU's Delnido and Elizondo in doubles action.
