BEAUMONT, Texas – The UT Arlington men's tennis team wrapped up their second tournament of the 2024 fall season at the Ron Wesbrooks Invitational hosted by Lamar University.
In doubles action,
Pedro Sasso and
Yazid Lahjomri defeated Rice's Joshua Mandelbaum and Yair Sarouk in the finals match by a score of 6-4. The doubles pairing of
Andres Medus and
Meethre Barot fell to Abilene Christian's Lima and Verdasco by a score of 7-6 (7-3).
Ian Uraga fell to Lamar's Guy Dagan in a close contest, falling 5-7, 6-4, 10-4 in the lone singles action on the day for the Mavs.
UTA will have nearly two weeks to prepare for the start of the ITA Texas Regional Championships. The six day event will take place at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas beginning Thursday, October 17, through Tuesday, October 22.
