RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA – The UT Arlington Maverick baseball team will face off against the California Baptist Lancers in a three-game series at James W. Totman Stadium in Riverside, California from Mar. 28-29.
 
Saturdays scheduled series finale has been canceled and pushed up to Friday due to weather conditions, making it the second time this year the Mavs will play in a doubleheader.

 
QUICK FACTS

• This will be just the second series the Mavs face off against the Lancers in WAC play. During the 2023 regular season, the Mavs won the series two games to one.
• In the conference series against ACU from Mar.15-17, the Mavs offense started to catch fire scoring 22 runs throughout the three-game series. In the series against SFA the Mavs racked in 36 runs over the three-game series, averaging 12 runs a game. The 58 runs scored in the last two conference series attribute to 43% of the Mavs total runs this year. 
• In the last 4 games, Garrison Berkley has gone 7-for-14 with 2 RBIs. The Aledo, Texas native struggled to start the season, recording just 10 hits in the first 21 games, however the redshirt junior has almost doubled his total hits for the season during the last 6 days.
• UTA ranks 3rd in the NCAA in walks allowed per nine innings with an astonishing 2.86 rate. Additionally, the Mavs pitching staff have only allowed 68 walks throughout 25 games, which ranks 4th in the NCAA (min. 23 games played).
• The Mavs currently sit T-3rd in the WAC standings with a conference record of 6-3 while CBU ranks 1st in the conference with a 5-1 record in WAC play.

The Mavs lead the all-time series against the Lancers three games to one, with the latest victory coming in the 2023 WAC Tournament in an 8-4 win.

The Mavericks will host TCU in a midweek clash on April 2nd at Clay Gould Ballpark at 6 p.m.
