ARLINGTON, TEXAS – The UT Arlington Maverick baseball team will host the Utah Tech Trailblazers at Clay Gould Ballpark for the first conference series of the year.
 
QUICK FACTS

• UTA have outscored its opponents 13-2 in the first 2 innings. The Mavs also have not allowed any runs to plate in the first inning in all thirteen games so far.
• Tate Bethel is the only Maverick who has cracked 3 hits in a game this season so far, doing so against UTSA in the first game of the season Feb. 24.
• Last season, the Mavs and Trailblazers faced on in a 3-game series which resulted in a sweep for the Mavs. UTA outscored Utah Tech 26-18 (8-7, 7-2, 11-9).
• The Mavericks have gone 5 straight games scoring 3 runs or less. The Mavs have also only scored 4+ runs in four games throughout the early season.
• Throughout 13 games, UTA has allowed just 82 runs for an average of 6.31 runs given up per game. Last season, throughout the same number of games, the Mavs had given up 95 runs for an average of 7.91 runs allowed a game.
• Jackson Hill, the true freshman, has recorded 6 hits out of 16 at bats for a batting average of .375, the highest on the squad. Hill also leads the team in stolen bases with 2 so far this season and has successfully stolen a base in both of his attempts.
• Ryan Black is the only Maverick who has stayed put in the batting lineup this season, manning the two spot. Black leads the team in doubles with 6, total bases with 23 and ranks T-1st on the squad with 14 hits. Black has also only struck out 5 times this season, the lowest on the team (Min. 11 games started).
• UTA's 5.61 ERA as a team ranks 4th in the WAC. Additionally, the Mavs has allowed the fewest amount of walks in the conference, as they have just allowed 34 batters to take a base on balls. 

OPPONENT HISTORY
This will only be the 4th time the Mavericks face off against the Trailblazers. Last season, UTA swept the season series against Utah Tech on April 6-8, 2023.

The Mavericks, take on the Utah Tech Trailblazers in its first conference series of the year, Mar. 8-10 at Clay Gould Ballpark. Last Season, the Mavs swept Utah Tech during the season series, outscoring the Trailblazers 26-18 throughout the three-game set.
