Matranga Adds North Texas Transfer to 2025 Roster

ARLINGTON – UT Arlington women's golf and head coach Catherine Matranga have announced the addition of North Texas transfer Chandler Browning who is set to join the 2025 roster this spring.

After spending three seasons with the Mean Green, the redshirt senior will add depth to UTA's five-player roster as the Texas product accumulated a career scoring average of 77.2 with five events played at UNT.

Prior to her collegiate career, Browning won the district 5-6A individual championship as well as the Prosper ISD Female Student-Athlete of the Year award. While at Prosper High School, Browning served as team captain of both varsity golf and basketball earning two-time First Team All-District in both sports.

During her time at North Texas, Browning made her collegiate debut at the season-opening Sam Golden Invitational and tied for 71st with a three-round score of 228 while playing as an individual. As a true freshman in 2022, Browning competed as an individual in The Buzzy and finished 77th with a three-round score of 239.

After redshirting for the 2022-23 academic year, Browning resumed competition for the Mean Green the following season and played in two of the team's 10 events with a season average of 75.50. With a 40th place finish at The Buzzy, Browning logged rounds of 75-81-82 for a 238 54-hole total.

The Mavs are set to open the 2025 spring season in Phoenix for Utah Valley's three-day Wigwam Preview beginning Sunday, Feb. 2.

Opened in February of 2019, the state-of-the-art Texas Rangers Golf Club is the new home of UTA's men's and women's golf programs. The world's only Major League Baseball-branded golf course, TRGC is the result of a $24 million renovation and updated routing of the former Chester W. Ditto Golf Course.
 
The Home of UTA Golf was designed by UTA alumni John Colligan and Trey Kemp of Arlington-based Colligan Golf Design. It features an expansive 23-acre practice area, and a new 33,871-square-foot clubhouse – set to open later this fall – will feature a full-service restaurant and bar, covered patio overlooking the golf course, pro shop, locker rooms and numerous rental and event spaces.
