COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The UT Arlington track and field team concluded day one of the Ted Nelson Invitational with multiple personal records in the men's and women's weight throw events of the meet.
To open up the men's weight throw,
Logan Villalva claimed 8th place with an 17.22m fling. His mark was not only good enough for an indoor personal record, it also currently ranks 1st in the WAC standings.
Josh Hoekendorf followed closely behind with a 17.03m hurl to finish in 9th behind Villalva, which also set an indoor personal record.
Joey Haws rounded out the men's weight throw with a 15.81m toss, another indoor personal record.
In the women's weight throw, Jalaah Puryear set an indoor personal record of her own with a 15.77m toss while
Esther Adedire, the freshman, additionally set an indoor personal record with a 14.15m hurl.
