NORMAN, Oklahoma – The UT Arlington pole vault team concluded the JD Martin Invitational with four out of four placements, including a 5.40m school record from All-American
Randon Gray.
In the men's pole vault, the first event of the day, both
Brady Shadrick and
Randon Gray shined with top-three placements in the event. Shadrick, a native of Killeen, Texas, finished in third with a leap of 4.90m, a season best.
Randon Gray, who competed in the NCAA Championships last season achieved a massive 5.40m leap to set a personal record and indoor school record. His fist-place finish currently ranks him in the top 25 of all Indoor Qualifiers for the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
In the women's pole vault,
Simona Cabella finished in third place behind a 3.60m leap while
Sophia Allen, the sophomore from Sheridan, Arkansas, placed second with a vault of 3.75m,

"Today was a good day," said assistant coach
Elizabeth Schweitzer. "We were able to get in some solid reps while collecting valuable data to find oppurtunities to improve. Brady had an indoor personal best while Simo and Sophia found consistency. Randon achievd a personal best while securing the school record, which is a great step in the right direction for his goals. They all stayed focused on the process and it resulted in tremendous perfromances."
