Softball Reveals 2026 Schedule

ARLINGTON – UT Arlington head softball coach Kara Dill has announced the 2026 softball schedule as UTA's slate is highlighted by several power five opponents along with three home tournaments and 26 home games.

"We are wrapping up our fall season, and that only makes us more excited for spring games to begin," shared Dill. "Our schedule is packed with must see home match ups and challenging road games that will push us to grow. Every opponent will help prepare us for our ultimate goal of a strong postseason run."

UTA will open the spring with an away tournament out west as the Mavericks will compete in a shared tournament hosted by New Mexico State and UTEP. There, the Mavs will face NM State, UMass Lowell, St. Thomas and North Dakota State (Feb. 6-8).

The inaugural Dream City Invitational will serve as the Mavs' home opener at Allan Saxe Field as UTA will welcome Wisconsin, Iowa State and Tulsa to Arlington (Feb. 13-15).

For the third preseason tournament of the season, UTA will host its 7th Boerner Invitational (Feb. 20-22) that will feature Creighton, South Dakota and Wichita State. The Boerner Invitational – named in honor of Melissa Boerner, a former UTA softball captain who was killed by a drunk driver the day before her senior year began in 1998 – is to help raise awareness to the importance of responsible drinking.

Following a midweek contest at Stephen F. Austin on Feb. 24, the Mavericks will turn and head to San Antonio for UTSA's three-day tournament (Feb. 27-Mar. 1) as the five-team field will consist of UTSA, North Dakota, St. Francis, Manhattan and UTA.

The Mavericks will welcome Southeastern Louisiana (Mar. 5) and Arizona (Mar. 10) for consecutive home midweek contests before an away match at Prairie View A&M on Mar. 11.

For the fifth and final preseason tournament, UTA will host the Maverick Invitational that will feature Columbia and South Dakota State (Mar. 13-15) before conference action begins at Abilene Christian on Mar. 20-21.

Following a midweek stint at power-five opponent Baylor on Mar. 24, the Mavs will be back at Allan Saxe Field to welcome Tarleton State for a three-game WAC series beginning Mar. 27 before heading to the mountains of Utah to face the Utah Valley Wolverines on Apr. 3-4.

UTA will face a four-game home stretch beginning with a midweek contest on Apr. 8 against Baylor before welcoming the Lancers of California Baptist to Allan Saxe Field for a series on Apr. 10-11.

To round out April action, UTA will play at Utah Tech (Apr. 17-18) followed by a final midweek doubleheader at East Texas A&M on Apr. 21.

UTA's conference series with Southern Utah will serve as the Mavericks' final home stand and Senior Weekend on Apr. 24-25.

The WAC Tournament will take place in Stephenville, Texas from May 6-9 and will be hosted by Tarleton State. NCAA postseason competition kicks off on May 15 with the first round of NCAA Regionals.
