ARLINGTON, TEXAS – The Athletes Unlimited Softball League has announced UT Arlington Softball Head Coach
Kara Dill as Blaze's new head coach, following her season as associate head coach.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to return to the AUSL for a second season. Softball is experiencing tremendous growth, and the momentum of this league reflects the excitement surrounding the future of our game," said Dill.
"I'm deeply appreciative of the support from Jon Fagg and my entire UTA staff and athletes. I'm also thrilled to continue working alongside Dana Sorenson as we build the Blaze organization and help advance professional opportunities for future generations."
Since taking the helm of Maverick softball in 2023, Dill has guided the program to a 69-89 record across the 2023, 2024 and 2025 seasons. Some of Dill's notable wins since her head coaching career began with UTA include Texas Tech (2/10/23), nationally ranked Kentucky (2/17/23) and Baylor (4/16/24, 3/25/25).
Launched in May 2025, the AUSL is a professional women's softball league operating in a traditional format. In its inaugural year, the league featured four teams competing in a 30-game season, with matchups hosted across six to eight cities nationwide. Beginning in 2026, the AUSL will transition to a fully city-based league.
AUSL will return its four original teams – Bandits, Blaze, Talons and Volts, along with Oklahoma City Spark and Cascade as newly added expansion teams.
