COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The UT Arlington track and field team concluded the Charlie Thomas Invitational with multiple personal records and several top three finishes in the highly-touted meet.
On the final day of the meet,
Winnie Kipsang ran an indoor personal record of 2:06.19 in the women's 800m for a second-place finish, which secured her place in the program's record book as the fastest indoor 800m time. Additionally,
Matro Jepkemboi set an indoor school record in the women's 3000m with a time of 9:38.75.
On day one of the meet, Desmond Frazier recorded a throw of 17.77m in the men's shot put for a third-place finish while
Randon Gray continued to dominate the men's pole vault with a leap of 5.38m, good enough for a second-place finish.
In the heptathlon,
Brady Shadrick placed third with a score of 5167 while recording an indoor PR in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.57.
OTHER INDOOR PERSONAL RECORDS
- In the men's 500m, Andres Gurrola finished with an indoor PR time of 14:45.15.
- With a time of 22.76, Myron Montgomery claimed a new indoor PR in the men's 200m.
- Bryce Vaughn recorded an indoor PR in the men's long jump with a leap of 6.63m.
- In the women's 400m, A'Myiah Johnson claimed an indoor PR with a pace of 1:01.42.
- Ayden Nyanasimeibi set an indoor PR in the men's 400m with a time of 49.26.
- With a time of 2:16.71, Krianne McBride set a new indoor PR in the women's 800m.
- In the men's 800m, Alex Kalmar claimed an indoor PR with a time of 1:50.15.
- In the men's weight throw, both Josh Hoekendorf (18.36m) and Joey Haws (17.56m) each claimed indoor PRs.
