ARLINGTON, Texas - The UT Arlington baseball team (4-9) will face the Little Rock Trojans (7-10) in the final non-conference series before conference play opens up next weekend. 
 
The Mavs hold an all-time record of 19-12 over the Trojans, including a 14-4 record at home. This will also be the first time since Apr. 10, 2022 since the Mavs and Trojans have squared off.
 
GAME NOTES

• Throughout thirteen games, Xavier Melendez currently leads the Mavs at the plate with an average of .302, grabbing 13 hits in 43 at bats. He also is the only Maverick with a triple on the season. Additionally, the Mavs HR leader, Tyce Armstrong, also slashes .302 on the season while contributing the most RBI on the team with 14, six more than any other Mav.
• Tyce Armstrong, a native of Conroe, Texas, leads the Mavs in homeruns (3), RBI (14), hits (16) and total bases (26).
• Sophomore Caylon Dygert and senior Caden Noah each collected seven strikeouts to help propel the UT Arlington Mavericks over the UL Monroe Warhawks 8-2 on Friday, Mar. 7. The 14 strikeouts in the game are the most in a game by the Mavs pitching staff this season.
• The Mavs and Trojans were former Sun Belt Conference rivals from 2014 up until 2021.
• Through the Mavs' first thirteen games, UTA has faced high-level opponents with a combined record of 116-64. The Mavericks' schedule ranks as the toughest in the conference thus far, according to warrennolan.com. 
• The last Maverick victory against the Trojans occurred on May 2, 2021, when UTA won in a 3-0 shutout..
• The Mavs feature five true freshman and 23 additional newcomers on the 2025 roster.
• The Mavs were 14-9 last season when they scored first and were 13-2 when out-hitting their opponent. This season, the Mavs are 2-1 when scoring first and 2-0 when out-hitting the opponent.
• Last season, UTA held a record of 11-13 at Clay Gould Ballpark and held a record of 5-6 in their final 11 home games of the season. This season, the Mavs have opened up 3-4 at home.
