WACO, Texas – The UT Arlington track and field teams concluded the second and final day of the Michael Johnson Invite on Saturday down in Waco from the Clyde Hart Track & Field Stadium.
The day was highlighted by the men's high jump which saw
Miles Jones and
Calen Jones move up in the NCAA rankings. Both Miles and Calen finished the day with a jump of 2.09m. It's a new personal record for Miles and is a season's best for Calen. The 2.09m mark moved them into 34th in the NCAA D1 West Region and 66th overall in all the NCAA. JJ Taylor and Jonathan Williams both matched their season best marks, Taylor jumping 2.04m while Williams finished with a mark of 1.94m.
In the men's shot put,
Hayden Wilson, finished with a new personal record throw of 17.71m while finishing seventh overall.
The women's javelin throw kicked off the day and
Allissa Rodriguez finished fifth overall with a throw of 41.80m.
Jaalah Puryear posted a new personal record in the women's hammer throw with a mark of 53.06m and a seventh-place finish. She bested her previous record by almost 2.5m.
The men's 4x100m relay team consisting of
Eli England,
Khalid Mendez,
Adam Herrera and
Malachi Barendilla finished with a season's best time of 40.66.
In the men's 400m,
Levi Bontke finished with a time of 49.64 which is a new season's best mark.

The Mavs have two regular season meets before the 2025 Western Athletic Conference Track & Field Outdoor Championships. First up is the two-day Joe Gillespie Invitational in Stephenville from Friday, April 25, through Saturday, April 26, from the campus of WAC foe Tarleton State.
