FORT WORTH, Texas – The UT Arlington track and field teams wrapped up their outdoor regular season schedule this Saturday with a solid showing at the TCU Horned Frog Invitational at Lowdon Track and Field Complex in Fort Worth.
The Mavericks once again dominated in the 800m run on both sides, taking the top two spots on the men's side and the top spot on the women's side.
Winnie Kipsang took the top spot on the women's side with a time of 2:04.72 while on the men's side,
Alex Kalmar finished first with a time of 1:47.38 and
Kash Powell took second with a time of 1:49.33. Kipsang's time is her fastest 800 time this outdoor season and just short of her outdoor personal best of 2:04.61. Kalmar's time is the second fastest time in program history and an outdoor personal record for Kalmar. Kalmar fell just short of downing Erik Martinsson's 1:47.34 he ran back in 2019.
Randon Gray took first in the men's pole vault with a mark of 5.10m. It's the third finish in the top spot this outdoor season for Gray and the fifth time he's posted a top three finish. Gray turns his sights to the conference championships where he looks to defend his title as best in the WAC.
Jaalah Puryear took third in the women's hammer throw with a mark of 52.98m. The throw is the second-best mark for Puryear this outdoor season, just short of her personal best of 53.06m she set a few weeks back at the Michael Johnson Invite.
Calen Jones takes second in the men's high jump with a leap of 2.14m. It's an outdoor personal best for Jones as he gears up to defend his outdoor conference championship title.
McKinley Novacek takes third in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.69m. The mark is the third best jump this outdoor season for Novacek.
The women's 4x100m relay team consisting of
Zaire Moore,
Adeyemi Talabi,
Alexis Cain and
Madison Pippins took second with a time of 45.27.
The men's 4x100m relay team consisting of
Eli England,
Khalid Mendez,
Adam Herrera and
Malachi Barendilla finished third with a time of 40.80.

The Mavs will turn their attention to the 2025 WAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships which will be hosted by UTA at Maverick Stadium from May 15-17.
