UTA Athletics Fundraising Reaches All-Time High

ARLINGTON, Texas – UTA Athletics is proud to announce a historic fundraising year in 2025, breaking multiple records and setting a new benchmark for donor engagement and philanthropic support. With the strategic launch of the rebranded Maverick Club and a renewed focus on major gift fundraising, UTA's Division of Intercollegiate Athletics experienced unprecedented growth across all key metrics.

The Maverick Club played a transformative role in this year's success. Participation soared, driving a 102% increase in annual fund contributions, while membership grew by 56%, reflecting widespread enthusiasm and commitment from alumni, fans, and community members.

Total dollars raised in 2025 increased by 280% over the previous year, setting a new all-time fundraising record. Major gift fundraising jumped by over 152%, underscoring a deepened investment in capital projects, scholarships, and program enhancements.

"We would like to thank our donors for their amazing support over the last few years. We couldn't have made these great strides without their generosity and commitment to UTA Athletics," said Jon Fagg, UTA Director of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Over the past two years, UTA Athletics has raised millions of dollars, reaching the highest cumulative totals in program history. The department has actively engaged alumni through initiatives such as traveling across the DFW area with coaches and meeting with prospective donors. The fundraising slogan, Join the Movement, has resonated strongly with supporters.

One standout example is UTA Professor Emeritus Jim C Quick and his wife Sheri, who recently made the second-largest unrestricted gift in athletics history.

"UTA Athletics fundraising has gone to the next level over the last couple of years, and we wanted to be part of that movement," said Jim Quick.

With this surge in philanthropic momentum, UTA Athletics is well-positioned to advance the program for years to come. The timing is ideal as UTA prepares to enter a new conference in 2026, coinciding with the beginning of the Division I revenue-sharing era.

"This is not just a moment—it's truly a movement. We appreciate the support from our alumni, donors, and fans. Our student-athletes and department are benefiting from their generosity. We're building something special here in Arlington," said Ira Childress, Deputy Athletic Director for Development and General Manager for Athletics.
