PEORIA, Illinois - The UT Arlington volleyball team begins its 2025 season starting with the Bradley Invitational Tournament this Friday and Saturday.
The Mavs open the tournament on Friday against Quinnipiac at 10 a.m. CT. Following Friday's first match, the Mavs will face off against Bradley at 5 p.m. CT before playing Western Illinois at 12:30 p.m. CT on Saturday.
SEASON OUTLOOK
- A duo of Mavericks earned conference preseason recognition this Friday as the Western Athletic Conference league officials announced. Junior Samantha Glenn named the preseason libero of the year award for the first time in her career, while both her and Sophie Ocampo were selected to the All-WAC Team.
- In addition to the preseason all-conference team, the WAC announced its preseason coaches' poll. After winning the regular season and conference championship last year (29-3, 16-0 WAC), the Mavs were tabbed to finish second this season, receiving one first-place vote.
- The Mavs finished the 2024 season at 29-3, including 18 sweeps, for their first undefeated conference season since 1992, and won the WAC regular season and tournament title to clinch a berth in the NCAA Volleyball Tournament.
- The Mavericks finished the 2024 regular season with the highest winning percentage (.926), and best conference record in program history going 16-0. The Mavs 23 game win streak at the end of the season is the longest in over 30 years in the program's storied history.
- The Mavericks were one of eight teams in the country with at least 29 wins. Additionally, the Mavs held the 7th highest winning percentage in the nation with a .906 mark in the final rankings.
