ARLINGTON - The UT Arlington volleyball team will look to stay undefeated this weekend at the UNT-UTA Invitational, co-hosted by UT Arlington and North Texas, from Sep. 12-14.
The Mavs open the tournament on Friday against Northwestern State at 5 p.m. CT. in Denton, Texas. Following Friday's match, the Mavs will head back to Arlington to face off against Little Rock on Saturday at 5 p.m. CT before concluding the tournament against North Texas at 5 p.m. CT on Sunday.
 
SEASON OUTLOOK

• The Mavericks have the most service aces in the NCAA with 67 this season, (2.58 per set).
• The Mavs are on of 33 Division 1 teams in the NCAA who are undefeated.
• Sophia Krichev currently ranks sixth in the conference in hitting percentage with a team-high .307 mark.
• Mira Ledermueller leads the WAC in assists per set with a clip of 8.38, and has already garnered a WAC Setter of the Week award.
• The Mavs have held opponents to a .112 hitting percentage, which not only leads the WAC, but also ranks ninth in the NCAA.
• A duo of Mavericks earned conference preseason recognition this Friday as the Western Athletic Conference league officials announced. Junior Samantha Glenn named the preseason libero of the year award for the first time in her career, while both her and Sophie Ocampo were selected to the All-WAC Team.
• In addition to the preseason all-conference team, the WAC announced its preseason coaches' poll. After winning the regular season and conference championship last year (29-3, 16-0 WAC), the Mavs were tabbed to finish second this season, receiving one first-place vote.
• The Mavs finished the 2024 season at 29-3, including 18 sweeps, for their first undefeated conference season since 1992, and won the WAC regular season and tournament title to clinch a berth in the NCAA Volleyball Tournament.
• The Mavericks finished the 2024 regular season with the highest winning percentage (.926), and best conference record in program history going 16-0. The Mavs 23 game win streak at the end of the season is the longest in over 30 years in the program's storied history.
• The Mavericks were one of eight teams in the country with at least 29 wins. Additionally, the Mavs held the 7th highest winning percentage in the nation with a .906 mark in the final rankings.
