ARLINGTON - The UT Arlington volleyball team hits the road, aiming to rebound at the Roadrunner Classic, hosted by UTSA from Sep. 19-20.
The Mavs open the tournament Friday at 12 p.m. CT against the Roadrunners, before facing Prairie View A&M later that evening at 4:30 p.m.
UTA will close out the tournament Saturday morning with an 11 a.m. matchup against North Florida.
 
SEASON OUTLOOK

• UTA's 8-1 record under head coach Tania Schatow stands as the best start by a first-year head coach in program history.

• The Mavericks still rank first in the NCAA for the most service aces this season, with 101 (2.53 per set).

• The Mavericks lead the Western Athletic Conference in several categories, including aces per set (2.53), match win-loss percentage (.889), opponent hitting percentage (.131), total digs (565), service aces (101), and total attacks (1,327).

• Mira Ledermueller leads the WAC in assists per set with a clip of 8.48 and has already garnered a WAC Setter of the Week award.
• Samantha Glenn also leads the WAC in digs per set. (4.20). She was voted WAC Preseason Libero of the Year.
• The Mavs have held opponents to a .131 hitting percentage, which not only leads the WAC, but also ranks tenth in the NCAA.
• After winning the regular season and conference championship last year (29-3, 16-0 WAC), the Mavs were tabbed to finish second this season, receiving one first-place vote.
• Last season, the Mavs held the 7th highest winning percentage in the nation with a .906 mark in the final rankings and are looking to continue that trend this year as their .889 winning percentage in the early portion of the season has the Mavs sitting 18th nationally and first in the WAC.
