ARLINGTON, Texas - The Mavericks (11-5, 3-1 WAC) are again in the Beehive State to take on Utah Tech (9-9, 2-2 WAC) at 8 p.m. CT on Thursday, Jan. 15, from Burns Arena. UTA won its third straight game its last time out, defeating ACU, 82-72, on Jan. 10, while Utah Tech fell 92-76 on the road at Utah Valley on Saturday. The game will be broadcast live on
ESPN+, as well as on the radio on the Varsity Network App with Will Conerly.
The Trailblazers are led by head coach Jon Judkins, who is in his 21st season as the head coach in St. George, where he is 347-238 across his 21 campaigns, 19 of which are at the D1 level. Judkins was also the head coach at Snow College for 12 seasons.
Utah Tech is led by senior forward Ethan Potter, a transfer from Utah Valley, who is averaging 16.1 ppg and 7.4 rpg. A trio of other Trailblazers are also averaging double figures - sophomore guard Noah Bolanga (12.1 ppg and 6.0 rpg), redshirt sophomore guard Chance Trujillo (11.1 ppg and 3.5 rpg) and redshirt senior guard Jusaun Holt (10.4 ppg and 3.5 rpg).
Thursday night's meeting between UTA and Utah Tech will be the sixth all-time, with UTA holding a 4-1 advantage, and the Mavs won the most recent meeting, 73-71, in Arlington on Feb. 1, 2025.
UTA is led by a pair of seniors in McCreary (14.7 ppg and 5.1 rpg) and forward
Raysean Seamster (13.6Â ppg and 6.4Â rpg). They'll need both to perform at a high level on Thursday night to keep the momentum going and continue to rise in the WAC standings ahead of the showdown with Utah Valley on Saturday afternoon.
