FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.
– The the men's and women's UT Arlington track and field teams are set to begin their indoor season at the Arkansas Invitational hosted by Arkansas on Friday, Jan. 16.
The meet will be held at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark. with field events beginning at 12 p.m. CT, starting with men's shot put and concluding with women's weight throw at 7 p.m. Running events kick off at 12:30 p.m. with preliminary heats of the 60-meter hurdles. The competition will conclude with the 4x400-meter relay races, as the women run at 8:20 p.m., followed by the men at 8:45 p.m.

COMPETING TEAMS
Along with UTA and the host Arkansas, the following teams are scheduled to compete: Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Central Arkansas, Coffeyville CC (KS), Iowa, John Brown (Ark.), Louisiana Tech, North Texas, Oklahoma City, Oral Roberts, Southern Miss, Stephen F. Austin, Tennessee and Texas State.
STORYLINES
- Four-time WAC champion Hayden Wilson opens his senior campaign after posting the fifth-best men's indoor shot-put mark in program history last season (56-8 1/2, 17.28m).
- Wilson and Zaire Moore, were among UTA's eight NCAA West Preliminary Round qualifiers a season ago and all return for the 2026 indoor season.
- Moore, back for her senior year, set the program record in the 60-meter hurdles last season with a time of 8.51.
- Senior Logan Villalva owns the second-best weight throw mark in program history after recording a throw of 61-3 (18.67m) last season.
- Luke Bontke posted the fourth-highest heptathlon score in program history last season with 5,435 points.
- Eliza Lemberga set the program record in the pentathlon a year ago, totaling 4,312 points.
