ARLINGTON, TX – The UT Arlington women's basketball program announced the addition of proven high-major scorer to its roster with the addition of
Jalyn Brown, who brings experience from Louisville, Arizona State and Michigan State to UTA.
Brown arrives at UT Arlington following four seasons of collegiate basketball at three Power Four programs.
Brown began her collegiate career at Louisville, appearing in seven games during the 2022-23 season as the Cardinals advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.
During her first season with the Sun Devils in 2023-24, Brown earned All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention recognition and led ASU in scoring at 17.3 points per game, while ranking third in Pac-12 play at 19.6 points per game.
Brown also produced two of the highest-scoring performances by an Arizona State player since 2000 during the 2023-24 season. She poured in 35 points against Colorado on Jan. 7, 2024, before scoring 34 points at Washington two weeks later. The 35-point performance marked the most points scored by a Sun Devil in a game during the 21st century at the time.
The Baltimore, Maryland native continued her offensive production as a junior in 2024-25, starting 27 of 29 games and leading the Sun Devils with 18.0 points per game. She totaled 523 points on the season and recorded a career-high 32 points at Kansas State.
Brown opened her senior season at Michigan State. She reached double figures in multiple contests throughout the season, including a season-high 21 points against Michigan and a 20-point performance at Minnesota. She also recorded a career-high five assists against Northwestern.
Before beginning her collegiate career, Brown was regarded as one of the nation's top recruits. The former St. Frances Academy standout was a four-star prospect, ranked No. 78 nationally and the No. 12 wing in the 2022 recruiting class by ESPNW HoopGurlz. She was also ranked among the top players in Maryland by Prep Girls Hoops.
