LAS CRUCES, N.M. – UT Arlington women's golf is through two days of the Golf Iconic Classic. The Mavericks shot a 10-over-par 298 as a team in the second round, a 13-stroke improvement over their day one outing. UTA also jumped two spots into a tie for 16th place.Â
All told, four of UTA's five players improved on their day one score and none of the Maverick lineup shot higher than they did in the opening round.

De Verner sits at 6-over going into the final round of the tournament and in a tie for 56th overall. The Monte Carlo, Monaco native leads the team in birdies with five.
Camilah Porras matched De Verner's effort with a 2-over 74 of her own. The UT Dallas transfer played steady golf, carding a 1-over 37 on the front and back nine and made par on holes 8-17.
Porras is two strokes behind De Verner at 8-over and is tied for 67th overall.Â
A pair of Mavericks finished right behind De Verner and Porras with rounds of 3-over 75. Nirjara Gulhane was one, carding a pair of birdies and 12 pars in her second round of action. The Cedar Park native enters day three in a tie for 82nd at 10-over.
