KOHALA COAST, Hawaii – The UT Arlington men's golf team completed its first day at the Amer Ari Invitational Thursday. As a team, the Mavericks finished with a 14-over-par 302 at the Mauna Lani Resort north course.

Three different players tied for the top finish for UTA. Ajay Morris, Arth Sinha and Michael Chevalier all turned in rounds of three-over-par 75's, placing them in a tie for 107th in individual play.

Morris finished with a team-best four birdies. The freshman also added 10 pars, two bogeys as well as a double and triple bogey to his card. Sinha and Chevalier each birdied three holes, including the par 5 hole 2. Chevalier opened his round with seven pars in a row.

Matthew Broder finished the day with a five-over 77 and Nicholas Lyman ended with a six-over 78. The Mavericks as a team are currently in 20th place.
