ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington Men's Golf has inked its third transfer of the offseason, signing Saint Mary's College of California transfer Winston Shen. Shen is entering his junior season after spending his sophomore season with the Saint Mary's Gaels and his freshman season with the University of San Diego Toreros.

In his lone season with Saint Mary's, Shen competed in one tournament — The Tindall Individual Invitational — held in September of 2025. The then-sophomore finished tied for 21st after carding scores of 74-75-73 for a 6-over-par 222. 

Shen birdied nine holes at the event and played the front nine at 4-under with a bogey on the ninth hole in round three being his only blemish.

The Rancho Palos Verdes, California native played in three tournaments during his freshman season at San Diego, playing as an individual in each. Shen's best performance came at the Southern Dunes Invitational where he turned in an 11-over 227 and finished tied for 50th. 

In the final two rounds of the tournament,  the Rancho Palos Verdes native shot a 3-over 75 while making birdie on a pair of holes. The then-freshman also played in all three rounds of both the El Macero Classic and the Lamkin Invitational in the spring.

While competing for Palos Verdes Peninsula High School, Shen was named team captain and MVP. Meanwhile, Shen found success in the Toyota Tour Cup, earning a win and a runner-up finish at River Ridge in Oxnard, California. The Rancho Palos Verdes native also earned 10 top-10 finishes in American Junior Golf Association events.

Shen is the third transfer addition for UTA this offseason, joining Ed Procter from UMKC and Joseph Hayden from Santa Clara. FOLLOW ALONG
