UTA Welcomes Abilene Christian For Senior Day Showdown Saturday

ARLINGTON, Texas — UT Arlington women's basketball (10-19, 4-13 WAC)  returns to the College Park Center for its regular-season finale on Senior Day, hosting Abilene Christian (21-9, 12-5 WAC) on Saturday, March 7 at 2 p.m. CT.

The Lady Mavs enter the matchup looking to close the home slate with momentum against a Wildcats team that has already taken two meetings this season.

UTA and ACU will meet for the 23rd time in program history, with the all-time series sitting even at 11-11. The Wildcats have won the last three meetings, including both matchups this season, 59-56 in Abilene on Jan. 10 and 72-63 in Arlington on Feb. 12. UTA is 7-3 at home in the series, while ACU holds a 3-7 edge over the last 10 meetings.

UTA's identity continues to start on the defensive end, where the Lady Mavs average 9.2 steals and 4.9 blocks per game while holding opponents to 27.1 percent from three-point range. Kira Reynolds leads the team with 12.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game, while Nya Threatt adds 9.1 points and 1.9 steals per contest and Jadyn Atchison chips in 8.4 points per game.

Abilene Christian enters Saturday as one of the top offensive teams in the league, averaging 72.4 points per game while shooting 42.5 percent from the floor and knocking down 232 threes on the year. The Wildcats also own a +12.9 scoring margin, forcing 14.9 turnovers per game while allowing just 60.3 points per contest.
