ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington Mavericks hit the road on Tuesday, March 10, for a midweek non-conference matchup against No. 9 Oklahoma Sooners baseball. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT at Kimrey Family Stadium in Norman.
UTA enters the contest at 5–10 following a series victory over ULM this past weekend at Clay Gould Ballpark. The Sooners come into Tuesday night's matchup at 14–2 on the season.
GAME NOTES
- UT Arlington enters Tuesday's matchup at 5–10 overall after securing a series win over ULM this past weekend at Clay Gould Ballpark.
- Xavier Melendez has been one of the Mavericks' most consistent hitters, leading the team with a .338 batting average and 22 hits through 15 games while adding eight RBI and a .403 on-base percentage.
- Preston Knott continues to provide production near the top of the lineup, hitting .265 while leading UTA with 12 runs scored. Knott also has four doubles and two triples and has gone 3-for-4 in stolen base attempts.
- Caylon Dygert has contributed both at the plate and on the mound for the Mavericks. Offensively, he is batting .265 with nine hits and a home run, while on the mound he carries a 1.05 ERA over a team-high 25.2 innings, striking out 20 hitters and holding opponents to a .183 batting average.
