SAN DIEGO – Day one of the R.E. Lamkin Invitational is in the books with UT Arlington men's golf completing the first two of three rounds at the tournament. Through the first day of action, the Mavericks sit in 16th place as a team after posting a 24-over-par 600 overall.

Nicholas Lyman paced the Mavericks through the first two rounds, ending the day with a 3-over 147 and a tie for 46th place. The highlight of the freshman's round came on the second hole of his 1-over 73 opening round. Lyman eagled the par five second hole, going along with three other birdies in the first round.

One stroke back of Lyman is Arth Sinha. Fresh off his second-place finish at the Military City Collegiate, the freshman steadily improved as the day went on, shooting a 1-over 73 in the second round and not carding a bogey in his final seven holes. Sinha is tied for 54th going into the final round.

Not far behind Sinha is another freshman in Ajay Morris. Morris recorded rounds of 77-73 for a 6-over 150 overall. The Arizona-native also posted a 1-over 73 in the second round.

Michael Chevalier and Matthew Broder capped off the day for UTA. The duo are within a stroke of each other, Chevalier shooting an 11-over 155 while Broder carded a 78 in both rounds to finish with a 156.

The final round of the tournament will begin at 10 a.m. CST Tuesday, continuing at the San Diego Country Club. Live scoring can be found on Scoreboard. FOLLOW ALONG
