ABILENE, Texas – UT Arlington women's tennis fell in its rematch with the Abilene Christian Wildcats 4-0.  The Mavericks split the regular season series with Abilene Christian, winning the first matchup 5-2 in Arlington.

ACU (8-11) opened with wins on Court 1 and Court 2, taking the early 1-0 advantage. UTA's Vanja Cado and Flora Farkaslaki worked the Wildcats' Jess Board and Alice Klinteby to a 5-5 draw on Court 3 before the match was left unfinished.

In singles play, Abilene Christian won in straight sets on Court 1, Court 3 and Court 6 to clinch the match. UTA (5-13) forced the remaining three singles bouts to a decisive third set before they were all ultimately left unfinished with the match ending when the Wildcats picked up their fourth point.

Diana Kaibara rebounded after a 6-3 opening set loss to ACU's Maria Cascos, winning the second by the same margin. The two left their third set unfinished with Cascos up 3-0. 

Both Cado and Natalia Gonzalez were in the lead by the time their matches were called in the middle of the final set. Cado was battling Klinteby on Court 4, winning the second set 6-3 and leading 2-0 in the third by the time the tilt was called off. 

Gonzalez started hot against ACU's Victoria Correa, winning the first set 6-1. Correa immediately responded in kind, setting up the winner-take-all third set. Gonzalez held a narrow 4-3 lead before the Court 5 bout was left unfinished. 

UTA will be back in action with its penultimate match of the regular season against the Wichita State Shockers at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex in Wichita, Kansas.
