Mavericks Travel to TCU for Midweek Rematch

FORT WORTH, Texas – The UT Arlington Mavericks continue midweek play Wednesday with a matchup at TCU at Lupton Baseball Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

TCU enters the game at 28-15 overall and 13-8 in Big 12 play. UTA will look to build on its earlier 11-8 victory over the then-No. 7 Horned Frogs on February 17 at Globe Life Stadium. The Mavericks' record will be updated following Tuesday night's game at Baylor.

UT Arlington's lineup is led by Xavier Melendez, who enters the week hitting .371 with 63 hits, 10 doubles, five home runs and 35 RBIs, posting a .518 slugging percentage across 40 starts. Harold Laracuente adds a .286 average with 44 hits, 14 doubles, a triple and a team-high 35 runs scored out of the leadoff spot, while Xander McAfee is batting .273 with 42 hits, 12 doubles, six home runs and 36 RBIs.

Behind them, Hank Harp is hitting .348 with 23 hits across 21 games, and Preston Knott contributes a .254 average with 32 hits, eight doubles, two triples, two home runs and 14 RBIs. Austin Phillips adds a .244 average with 33 hits, six doubles, three home runs and 14 RBIs, while Noah Fields has posted a .225 average with 27 hits, seven doubles and three home runs, giving the Mavericks depth throughout the order heading into the midweek contest.

On the mound, Merek Sears leads the staff with a 2.43 ERA across 19 appearances, totaling 40.2 innings with 38 strikeouts and two saves. Hayes Melville continues to provide steady work out of the bullpen with a 3.25 ERA over 21 appearances, working 27.2 innings with 21 strikeouts and four saves. Kyle Winkler has posted a 3.54 ERA over 10 appearances with three wins, while Caylon Dygert anchors the rotation with a 3.86 ERA over 11 starts, working 65.1 innings with 42 strikeouts.
