Indoor Highlights
2014
• Scored for UTA in the 200m at the Sun Belt Conference Championships by placing eighth (22.35).
• Had a season-best 200m time of 21.92 in the prelims at the league meet.
• Finished 11th in the 60 meters at the SBC meet with a season-best clocking of 6.98.
Outdoor Highlights
2014
• Earned Second-Team All-America honors in the 4x100 meters, as UTA finished 15th in the semifinal race (39.60).
• Helped the 4x100m quartet set a school record in the NCAA West Preliminary Round (39.55).
• Placed 10th in the 200m (21.34) and 11th in the 100m (10.59) at the Sun Belt Conference Championships.
• Had a season-best 200m time of 21.11 in a ninth-place finish at the Bobcat Classic.
PRIOR TO UT ARLINGTON
• Competed in track and field at the University of North Texas.
• Played one year of football at Blinn College before having a career ending shoulder injury.
HIGH SCHOOL
• Was a three-time regional qualifier in track and field.
• Qualified for the National Junior Olympics three years in a row.
• Lettered four years in football, three years in track and field, and one year in baseball in high school.
• Was selected to play in the Houston Space City Classic All Star football game as a senior.

• Is the son of former Annettra and Warren Newson.
• Father played professional baseball, including three seasons with the Texas Rangers.
• Has three siblings, Quadrie, Tray and Shawn.
