BEFORE UT ARLINGTON:  Was a three-time state qualifier, and was the first-ever Rice High School state qualifier in the 3200 meters ... Was an eight-time regional qualifier ... Was a district individual champion ... Was named the team's Most Valuable Player ... Was a member of the Faith Running Camp.

PERSONAL:  Is the daughter of Kim Derden ... Born in Corsicana, Texas ... Is undecided on intended major ... Was the vice president of the school's National Honor Society and her junior class vice president ...Graduated in the top 5 percent of her class.
