Jalen Jones was a men's basketball graduate assistant for the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons.
 
Jones, a UTA graduate who played two seasons under former head coach Scott Cross, started 66 of 67 career games with the Mavericks. During his time wearing the blue and orange, Jones averaged 12.4 points and 4.6 rebounds per contest and helped UTA to a 27-9 (14-4 Sun Belt) record and a National Invitational Tournament (NIT) berth in 2017. 
 
The Cedar Hill, Texas, native went on to play professionally for three years after graduating from UTA in 2017. His first year was spent in Andorra with Morobanc Andorra where he averaged 19 points, 5 rebounds and five assists.
 
Jones went on to play the final two years of his professional career in Brazil with São Paulo Futebol Club where he recorded 18 points, 6 rebounds and three assists per game prior to getting injured in his final season.
