Taylor Satchell joined the UTA softball coaching staff in January of 2022 as the volunteer assistant coach for the Mavericks.
Satchell comes to UTA following a successful playing career at LSU and Texas Tech. A native of Rayne, Louisiana, Satchell spent her freshman and sophomore season at LSU (2016, 2017). During her time in Baton Rouge, Satchell had a .382 batting average with a .555 slugging percentage and played in 21 games making 11 starts.
After two seasons with the Tigers, Satchell went on to play at Texas Tech for the remainder of her career. In her senior campaign, Satchell earned NFCA All-Region Third-Team honors where she started in all 58 games at shortstop for the Red Raiders with a .296 batting average. Satchell finished second on the team with 10 home runs, 11 doubles, seven sacrifice bunts and 81 assists.
Following her collegiate career, Satchell started teaching and coaching softball at Denton High School in August of 2020 through December of 2021. She also gives softball lessons on her own time and at D-Bat.
Satchell graduated with a B.A in Interdisciplinary Studies in May of 2020 from Texas Tech.
