ARLINGTON, Texas - Texas-San Antonio got a season-high 24 points from Raphael Posey to defeat Texas-Arlington 79-72 in a Southland Conference men's basketball game at Texas Hall Wednesday night.
The win snaps UTSA's three-game losing streak while UTA falls to 10-10 and 5-5.
Joining Posey in double figures was Justin Harbert with 16, John Millsap 15 and Ray Selvage with 11.
The SLC's leading scorer, Steven Thomas, led UTA with 19 points. Kenneth Henderson had a career-high 18 points, Stephen Floyd chipped in 13 and Jarrett Howell added 12.
UTSA (10-10, 5-4) built as much as a 17-point lead in the second half. UTA could never get closer than eight until the final seconds of the game. A Brady Dawkins three-pointer cut the lead to 44-36 with 14:20 to play, but Posey answered with a bucket to kick the lead back out to 10, 46-36.
In the first half, the Roadrunners used their size to out-rebound UTA 24 to 11 and take an 11-point lead, 38-27, at halftime after Millsap converted a three-point play with 32 seconds left in the half.
UTA returns to action Saturday when they host Lamar at 4 p.m.
